Mission

“Parenting Life Skills Center serves families by teaching life skills in a caring, nurturing, and accessible environment to promote self-worth and quality of life.”

Purpose: “Our primary purpose is to provide education, referral, and information for parents. Major areas of concern include, but are not limited to: Parenting skills for high-risk parents, pregnant and parenting teens, young adult parents, grandparents, raising their grandchildren, families in recovery from chemical drug or alcohol addictions, parents of teens, parents who want to improve their relationship with their children, and high-risk adolescents.

“The purpose of Parenting Life Skills Center is to provide a variety of quality preventative and treatment parent/family education programs to families at risk for child abuse and neglect and domestic unrest/violence. All voluntary services are free of cost to the families and enrollment is self-determined and families can choose either long or short-term classes.”

 
Population Served

Parenting Like Skills Center serves the Springfield, Greene County, Ozark areas and a 40-mile radius around these areas. At this time, there are about 138 families enrolled in the programs that Parenting Life Skills Center provides, but the enrollment rate is changing all the time.
