Mission

To create awareness and generate funds to provide resources for infants and children in southwest Missouri and northwest Arkansas who have medical needs.

Description of Services

Children's Miracle Network funds children in many ways:

  • CMN purchases life-saving medical equipment for hospitals, ambulances and schools.
  • CMN provides educational programs that prevent injuries and illness.
  • CMN provides financial assistance to families of hospitalized children.
  • CMN provides assistance for medical expenses not covered by insurance or Medicaid.
  • CMN supports the C.A.R.E. Mobiles, a mobile clinic providing FREE health screenings and immunizations to children without access to health care.

Initiating Referral

CMN cares for all children regardless of socio-economic background. Physicians, nurses, social workers, and other health care workers are among some of the groups who refer patients and their families to CMN. An application for assistance is available for any family to fill out upon request. All applications must be accompanied by a physician's letter verifying the need for the item requested.

Cost

All services are provided with no cost to the families. CMN is a non-profit organization supported by funds raised by direct donations, fund-raising, and a national annual telethon. All funds raised locally stay local. All administrative costs are covered by Cox Health Systems. Children's Miracle Network Telethon raised $1.3 million for Ozarks children in 2004.

Population Served

Children's Miracle Network serves the Ozark area sick and injured children in need of medical services and financial assistance for medical services. Programs offered are Special Needs Fund, Family Care Grant, Children Are Really Excellent (C.A.R.E.) Mobile, and educational programs.
