Purpose
The Child Advocacy Center Inc. represents a community wide effort to address the immediate needs of children identified as possible victims of child abuse by sensitively providing objective interviews and medical evaluations necessary for determining appropriate interventions.
Goals
- To provide a community based setting for the skilled and objective evaluation of children identified as possible victims of child abuse.
- To allow collaboration among agencies and professionals mandated to intervene in suspected child abuse cases.
- To minimize the possibility of redundant interviewing by facilitating interagency cooperation.
- To provide appropriate crisis intervention and referral for children as needed.
- To serve the community by supporting varied education, training, treatment, research, and prevention efforts addressing child abuse.
Population Served
The Child Advocacy Center serves 18 counties in the state of Missouri.
