Purpose

A non-denominational Christian Summer Camp where special needs children and their siblings experience an awesome, life-changing week of camp. It exists to return childhood experiences to kids who have been robbed of them by disease or disability.

 
Description of Services

A 7-day, 6-night camp which offers outdoor activities such as swimming, archery, ropes, course, hiking trails, horseback riding, canoeing, basketball, etc. The children also participate in daily devotional/prayer time, theme parties, and arts/crafts.

 
Camps are divided into the following groups: Developmental Disabilities; Physical Disabilities, Post Traumatic Burns; Blood Disorders and Oncology; Visual and Hearing Impaired; General Medical Camp (any medical disability); Adult Developmental Disabilities.

 
Cost

Camp Barnabas is a non-profit organization that provides scholarships for all campers in need. The camp depends upon the generosity of gifts from individuals, foundations, and corporations.

 
Types of Service Providers at Agency:

The camp relies on help from volunteers including counselors, cooks, doctors, and nurses. The staff to camper/counselor ratio is 1:2 or 1:1.

 
About

Camp Barnabas is located near Monett in southwest Missouri. The campers have non-stop fun in a spiritual foundation, giving children the courage to face disability or disease with dignity. Camp Barnabas strives to build personal relationships with each camper and creates an environment of unconditional love for every camper.

 
Population Served

Children with a developmental and physical disability, post traumatic burns, blood disorder, oncology, visual and hearing impaired, adult developmental disability, and other general medical disabilities.
