Purpose
Building Blocks is a Nurse-Family Partnership program that works with first-time parents to help them develop effective parenting skills and build resilient families. The program is funded through Springfield Public Schools' Safe Schools Healthy Students Initiative.
Goals:
- To help women improve the outcomes of pregnancy by helping them improve their health behaviors.
- To help mothers improve their child's health and development by helping them provide more responsible and competent care for their children.
- To help mothers become economically self-sufficient by helping them develop a vision for their own future, plan future pregnancies, continue their education and find jobs.
Population Served
First-time mothers of any age.
