The Nursing Department at Missouri State University is pleased to offer BSN-Completion courses online. Online courses provide enhanced accessibility for ASN prepared Nurses to attain their Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree. Distance learning students have the same access to student services (e.g., Meyer Library resources, Financial Aid, Counseling, the Writing Center, and many others) as students on campus. The Department works with community colleges and two-year colleges to provide the most seamless transfer of courses possible. Students may take the majority, if not all, of the general education courses at a college in their area, while completing their BSN through Missouri State University.
Students may do all of their clinical experiences in their local community. Faculty and students collaborate to identify clinical experiences and preceptors that meet the course objectives, as well as the students' interests.
Student advising and communication may be done via telephone, e-mail, FAX, or by appointment on campus.
Distance learning enriches the learning environment of the BSN courses. Contact with students from different localities via course chat rooms facilitates an understanding of a larger region and its unique health care needs.
