Students wishing to audition for acceptance as a music major in the brass area should prepare literature or etudes (for example, a state solo contest piece or all-state audition music) of two contrasting styles that demonstrate technique and expression.
In addition, students will be asked to play major scales through four sharps and four flats (two octaves when possible), a chromatic scale and sight-reading.
