The Music Department at Missouri State University is hosting audition days for interested students. These are the dates for those on-campus auditions:

    * Friday, February 6, 2009
    * Friday, February 20, 2009
    * Friday, March 13, 2009
    * Saturday, March 14, 2009

This audition can serve two purposes: 1) an audition for string students to receive a scholarship to perform in the university symphony orchestra, and 2) acceptance into the department for those interested in becoming a music major.

To register for a time to audition on one of these days, contact the Music Department office at (417) 836-5649 or email Donna Lindsey at DonnaLindsey@missouristate.edu. You may also find the forms on line at the Music Department's audition information page.

If these dates do not work with your schedule, please contact Dr. Robert Quebbeman or one of the String Faculty members and every effort will be made to try to accommodate your schedule.

Suggested string audition material:

     * a prepared piece (solo or etude) which demonstrates your technical and tone quality abilities on the instrument (this can be all-district or all-state materials)
    * a three octave major scale

Seating auditions for chair placement for string, wind, and percussion players will occur during the first few days of classes in August. Materials and information will be sent during the late summer.
