What better time to renew Marketing friendships and connections than at Homecoming 2006, this weekend, October 27 and 28? Join us for a weekend of activities and rekindle old acquaintances. For a full list of activities, log on to www.alumni.missouristate.edu/homecoming.htm.
Here, though, are a few activities that might be of particular interests to Marketing students, faculty and alumni….
For students, consider the Decorate the District contest, the second annual Pumpkin Bust, the Bonfire/Pep Rally or the Ozark’s Food Harvest Canned Food Drive. Remember also that Marketing major Ashley Secoy has been named a 2007 Homecoming queen candidate and serves as part of the royal Homecoming Court.
Meet at the COBA tent at BearFest Village and enjoy free hotdogs, soft drinks and popcorn after the Homecoming Parade and before the football game on Saturday. Dr. Robert Luke will be manning the BBQ grill once again and festivities will culminate with the ever popular “Have A Ball” drawing where you have a chance to win a variety of Missouri State sports balls and other sports-related items.
Of course there’s the traditional football game with the Missouri State Bears playing the Southern Illinois Salukis. Cheer for Marketing’s Chris Geisz, a wide receiver, Derrick Byrd, a linebacker and co-captian, Seth Reichert, an offensive guard, and Waylon Richardet, a linebacker for the Bears.
Marketing Lecturer Sherry Cook and Advertising/Promotion alumnus Jesse Kuhn will be featured as special guests of the Meyer Library at a “Meet the Authors” reception. They will be signing their books, The Quirkles, from 10:30 until 12:00 noon on Saturday.
And, if you’re feeling especially ambitious, start the day with the annual 5K run and end with one of the many parties/dances that will conclude the day’s activities.
Finally, remember, that while we encourage your involvement in Homecoming activities, we love to see you anytime! Feel free to drop by Glass Hall and say hello to your favorite professors or drop us a line to keep up-to-date. A quick email is always appreciated. And, know you’re always welcome in the Marketing Department. Hope to see or hear from you soon!
With the coming of fall comes the beauty of the forests of reds, yellows, and gold, brisk mornings, the aroma of burning leaves, and HOT DAWGS. You owe it to yourself and your loved ones to attend this years Homecoming extravaganza. Who knows…MSU may even WIN a game!!! >More
She commonly refers to her post high school education as “the long and winding road.” Susie Turner, a native of Springfield, began her academic journey at Missouri State University in 1978, stayed for two and a half years, and then moved out of state, dropping out of school until 1990. After more than a decade hiatus, she ended up back where she had started--in Springfield at Missouri State. >More
