Student Organizations

There are many organizations in which marketing students can get involved. Making professional connections, developing friendships with other students with common interests and involvement in social activities are just a few reasons to consider joining one or more of the organizations listed below.

Advertising Club

The Advertising Club’s membership is composed of individuals interested in the field of advertising and promotion. Each year, the organization participates in attending, hosting and planning business events, participating in local and regional competitions, social activities and community service. Anyone who is interested should contact Dr. Amy Stokes: AmyStokes@MissouriState.edu.

Logistics and Supply Chain Management Association

The Logistics & Supply Chain Management Association is a professional organization for logistics majors at Missouri State University. The organization provides students an opportunity to learn more about the real-world application and practices of logistics and supply chain professionals, as well as provide help to current logistics majors with professional development. The organization is also open to any student interested in logistics and supply chain management and a desire to learn. Please contact Dr. Ahren Johnston for more information: AhrenJohnston@Missouristate.edu.

MSU American Marketing Association

The MSU American Marketing Association chapter, also known as our Marketing Club, is designed to provide students with opportunities to meet and network with local, regional and national marketing professionals. Student also learn about the field of marketing through attending, sponsoring and hosting events, such as the 5K run or Marketing Club Car Show each Spring. Through this club, students will gain hands-on experience and knowledge of marketing. The Marketing Club also spends time serving the Springfield community. If you are interested, please contact Dr. Ron Clark: RonClark@missouristate.edu and/or Dr. Alex Hamwi: AlexHamwi@missouristate.edu.

Advertising Team

Most recently in May 2014, the Ad Team won first place in the Challenge Your Energy IQ Case Competition sponsored by the American Petroleum Institute. This followed a 2013 win at the AT&T Campus Challenge, which charged students with creating and implementing a research and marketing plan for AT&T's "It Can Wait" campaign to end texting while driving. In 2012, the MSU Ad Team was one of three universities selected, out of a group of 17 competing universities, to present their campaign in Washington D.C. for the United States Medical Reserve Corps, America On Call. In 2010, The Ad Team presented a research-based advertising campaign on "tween" seat-belt use to federal officials from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. In 2008, The Advertising Team finished first in the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) "Go Green. Go Public." campaign. Needless to say, the Missouri State Ad Team is a national force to contend with.
