The Missouri State University-Mountain Grove Campus continues to build upon and expand the services provided to Missouri fruit growers for the past 105 years. Those services are provided through two major units: the Missouri State Fruit Experiment Station and the Mid-America Viticulture and Enology Center.
President Nietzel recognizes the important role that the Missouri State University-Mountain Grove Campus plays in enabling the Missouri State University System to meet its mission. With this in mind, he has requested that I establish a Task Force, to be chaired by Dr. Tamara Jahnke, Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs, to make recommendations on how we can continue to expand the role of the Mountain Grove Campus. To that end, I am establishing the Mountain Grove Campus Task Force. It is my hope that findings and recommendations of the Task Force will be reported to me no later than December 15, 2005. I will then share those recommendations and findings with the President, as well as the Board of Governors.
The charge to the Task Force is to determine the role that the Mountain Grove Campus will play in support of the Missouri State University System. The Mountain Grove Campus includes a number of partnerships that will also play a role in the discussions. These partnerships include the Mountain Grove community, other universities within the state, and the Missouri fruit and wine industry. Suggested questions to be examined by the Task Force include but are not limited to:
Dr. Jahnke will be contacting you shortly to provide the time and location for the first meeting of the Task Force. Thank you for participating on this very important Task Force.
