The Missouri State Choral Program is located in the Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts. You are invited to be a part of an exciting choral schedule; all choirs rehearse in the Hall rehearsal room and perform in one of America’s finest concert halls! If you enjoy singing and have experience singing in a choir—or have an instrumental background with a strong desire to sing—there is a place for you in one of the select choirs at Missouri State University! All choirs are open to both music and non-music majors.

Missouri State Concert Chorale

Limited to 48 voices. The Chorale has sung at state and national MENC, ACDA and MMEA conventions and in tours to New York’s Lincoln Center, Miami, Puerto Rico, England, France, Belgium, Germany, Slovakia and Hungary. Audition required.

Missouri State Chamber Singers

Limited to 32 select voices. The group presents fall and spring tours and concerts and the annual Elizabethan Christmas Dinners. Audition required.

Missouri State Collegiate Chorale

Schedule includes “Sound of Christmas,” and an annual major oratorio performance each spring with the Missouri State Symphony Orchestra. Audition not required for those with previous choral experience.

Missouri State Collegiate Singers

Schedule includes the Elizabethan Christmas Dinners, “Christmas at Missouri State,” and a major oratorio performance in the spring. Audition required. A mixed choir of 80 voices.

Missouri State Gospel Choir

A spirit group in the strong Gospel tradition.

 

In a choir you’ll have fun singing and will experience musical and artistic “highs” to be remembered long after college! You’ll also make new friends and have something to look forward to that is both challenging and rewarding.

Note: Students with previous choral experience may pre-register for the MSU Collegiate Singers without a permission slip from Dr. Guy Webb, professor of music, during their SOAR (Student Orientation, Advisement and Registration) visit to campus to assure credit in a choral ensemble. Choir auditions can be scheduled through July 15 each year. However, for scholarship consideration, students should audition before April 1.
