Please follow these guidelines when taking the placement test:
- The Placement Examination may be taken only one time before enrollment in French, German, or Spanish. Taking the exam more than once, without the express written permission of the Department Head of Modern & Classical Languages, causes your results to be invalid. Please contact the Department Head should you feel that your results do not accurately reflect your skill level. You must obtain written permission to take the test a second time. The second attempt for placement will be taken by "appointment only" on the Missouri State Campus within the Language Resource Center.
- For questions dealing with placement in other course offerings within Modern & Classical Languages, please contact the Department Head .
- Results of the on-line exam are used to place student candidates of French, German, or Spanish language studies into the appropriate course level. Therefore, do not consult any material (dictionaries, textbooks, class notes, tutors, friends, etc.) when taking this test as it would skew your placement results. An accurately scored assessment of second language skills becomes very important due to credit earned by taking the course of placement and by meeting the grade requirement of "B".
