President - Subject:
- Leadership Assessment and Priorities Committee
I request that you serve on a Presidential Committee that will help the University develop its capacity for excellent leadership abilities throughout the institution. As you know, I have discussed this committee with the Executive Committee of the Faculty Senate, and based on those conversations, charge the Committee with the following:
- Develop a leadership assessment process that generates valid information that can be used to identify those concerns throughout the university that can be addressed through effective leadership.
- Detail a process of delivering the assessment, collecting and managing the data, and analyzing the results.
- Develop a mechanism that ensures that the results are used to promote individual development of administrative/leaders, the strengthening of university leadership, and the resolution of problems experienced at departmental, college, and university levels.
I am asking Dr. Kane to chair the committee and arrange for convening the first meetings.
