In 2008, Brick City was renovated to become the new home for Missouri State University’s art and design department. Moving this program downtown was a natural fit – placing the students amidst galleries and strong architectural and urban elements, and exposing students to opportunities in the community. The exposed brick walls and open concept classrooms give students a home with room to create freely.
Brick City consists of six buildings, four of which will be inhabited by creative arts departments at Missouri State University. However, space may accommodate others, like advertising agency Marlin, which exemplifies creativity and the entrepreneurial spirit.
