Workforce Support Systems Implementation

Overview of Workforce Support Systems Implementation

All University units are involved with the hiring and developing of our employee workforce to include faculty, staff, and students who support the organization in achieving its goals and mission.  Many of you have expressed the challenges faced with all of you have expressed concern regarding the length of time it takes to advertise and hire new employees, the complexity of our current evaluation system, and challenges in keeping our workforce trained in current skill sets and federal/state regulatory compliance.  A  cross disciplinary committee consisting of  representatives from all major divisions  in the University participated in a Request for Proposal (RFP) process to solicit proposals from vendors who provide software and services in the areas of applicant tracking and learning management. The committee after reviewing vendor  proposals and evaluating systems during on-site vendor demonstrations made a recommendation for the final negotiation and selection process for workforce support systems.  The two workforce support systems selected are PeopleAdmin for the Online Applicant Tracking System and Alchemy Systems for the Online Learning Management System.

The accrued benefits from the purchase of these two systems and associated services for the University and our employees as a whole include:

  •  Streamlined online application submission and improved application processing efficiency.
  • Enhanced techniques to assist in the recruitment of diverse applicants.
  • On-line collaboration in the hiring process, reducing the amount of required in-person meetings.
  • Increased use of electronic work flow systems reducing paper driven processes.
  • Improved tracking and record keeping of employee qualifications and certifications.
  • Enhanced reporting capabilities for required federal and state compliance training.
  • Integration of on-line training programs into the professional development process.
  • Enhanced orientation program for new employees.
  • Real-time feedback to employees and supervisors.
  • Improved information security and privacy protection
