GENERAL FUNCTION

The Director of the School of Nursing is responsible for administering the School of Nursing, an academic unit within a college. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, faculty recruitment and development, faculty evaluation, program development, program review, curriculum development, student advisement, budgeting and budget control, class schedule planning, and general supervision of the teaching, research, service, and related scholarly activities of the school.

MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE QUALIFICATIONS

The minimum acceptable qualifications for the position of Director of the School of Nursing are an earned doctorate in nursing or related academic field and a graduate degree in nursing. Applicants must be eligible for RN licensure in the state of Missouri.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The specific duties and responsibilities are assigned by the College Dean. The Director of the School of Nursing facilitates a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and the development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.

SUPERVISION

The Director of the School of Nursing is supervised by the College Dean and exercises supervision of the faculty and staff of the School of Nursing.
