IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR MAJOR ADMINISTRATOR GENERAL FUNCTION The International Business Programs (IBP) Program Coordinator is responsible for carrying out assigned tasks under the Office of International Business Programs’ programmatic activities that relate to students, faculty, and the business community; overseeing the day-to-day operational aspects of the office; and other responsibilities as may be assigned within the context of the needs of International Business Programs. MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE QUALIFICATIONS Education A Bachelor’s degree in International Business Administration with multilingual competency (such as Chinese, French, German, Japanese, and/or Spanish, etc.) is required. An advanced degree in business with language proficiency is preferred. Experience Multi-cultural experience and exposure gained through overseas educational experiences, work placements, living in other cultural settings, and/or other appropriate means of acquiring cross-cultural skills are required. Skills Strong oral/written communication skills in English and a working knowledge in one or more other languages are required. Computer literacy (particularly word processing, spreadsheet, presentation graphics, and web authoring and management) is required. Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills are required. Effort Occasionally required to lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds. Other The scope of the job requires occasional evening and weekend work. Occasional overnight, out-of-town travel may be required. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND 1. Assists in assuring the Office of International Business Programs meets the needs of students, faculty, and the business community by coordinating various programmatic activities designed for the benefit of students, faculty, and the business community. 2. Facilitates awareness and use of IBP resources by developing and maintaining program literature for dissemination to prospective clientele, marketing and promoting programmatic activities by presenting information about the programs to audiences of varying numbers, distributing program literature at student festivals, strategic locations across campus, and elsewhere as needed, and/or by appearing for media interviews. 3. Assures required documentation is obtained and maintained by maintaining student records of exchange students under the various academic linkages between the College of Business Administration and overseas institutions. 4. Helps to assure the IBP achieves its objectives by assisting in the planning and coordination of workshops and lectures requiring interface across campus and the external community. 5. Helps to assure information about IBP is easily accessible by developing and maintaining appropriate web sites for the various programs. 6. Helps to ensure the effective operation of IBP by overseeing the day-to-day operational aspects of the office in consultation with the Director, assisting with the preparation of grant proposals for funding from external and internal sources, and assisting with budget management for the Department. 7. Remains competent and current through self-directed professional reading, developing professional contacts with colleagues, becoming involved in professional organizations and attending professional meetings, attending professional development courses, and attending training and/or courses required by the Director of IBP. 8. Contributes to the overall success of International Business Programs by performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned within the context of the needs of the International Business Programs. SUPERVISION The IBP Program Coordinator is supervised by the Director of International Business Programs and supervises the work of graduate assistants and student workers.
