Employee must complete all of Section 1 of the I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification document.
Employee must then choose one document from List A or one document from List B and List C. (Please see page 3, List of Acceptable Documents, of I-9 form.)
Employee must bring the original documents and the I-9 form to a Notary Public located at a financial institution or university. The Notary Public will act as the University’s agent in examining the documents, witnessing the employee’s signature, as well as completing and signing Section 2 of the I-9 form. The Notary will also need to complete the Notary Public form (see links below). If a Notary Public is not available at a financial institution or university, please contact the Office of Human Resources at 417-836-6616 for guidance.
A copy of the documents that establish identity and eligibility to work, the original I-9 form, and the Notary Public form must be returned to the Missouri State University hiring department or the Office of Human Resources within three days of beginning employment.
