In addition to Missouri State University's Entering Freshman, Entering Transfer and Graduate scholarships, MSU offers a wide variety of general (non-departmental) and departmental scholarships from gifts established by donors to the university. To be considered for all university and donor funded scholarships, you must first be admitted to the University.
The Missouri State University General and Departmental Scholarship application is available each year beginning in early October for the following academic year and is used to award MSU donor funded scholarships only. The application is located in the Financial Aid section of My Missouri State (see steps 1-4 below). There is a priority deadline date of March 1. Although the application will be available on line until May 1, we strongly encourage you to apply by March 1 to be considered for the maximum number of donor funded scholarships. The awarding process will begin shortly after March 1.
Many of the scholarships require you to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). We recommend that you submit the FAFSA on or after January 1 and no later than March 1 each year.
Due to the variety of scholarship committees and number of applicants, you will be contacted only if you are selected for a scholarship.
