The Hospitality and Restaurant Administration department at MSU is designed to prepare students for exciting careers in the hospitality industry, which is one of the fastest growing industries in the world today. Comprised of lodging, restaurants, resorts, travel, theme parks, casinos, food purveyors, special events, country clubs, and entertainment, the hospitality industry makes special occasions memorable and provides a home away from home for the business traveler or vacationer. Moving up the hospitality management ladder takes a shorter time than in any other industry.
The Hospitality and Restaurant Administration department is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Programs in Hospitality Administration (ACPHA). It has been continuously accredited since 1992.
Missouri State University is located in Springfield, Missouri, just 35 miles north of Branson and 75 miles southwest of The Lake of the Ozarks. These tourist destinations, along with Springfield's numerous restaurants and hotels, offer internship and career opportunities for students and graduates.
The mission of the Hospitality and Restaurant Administration Department is to enhance the university mission of producing educated persons who will make a contribution to the hospitality industry and society as a whole.
