Students who entered the Honors College between Fall 2009 and Spring 2013 are required to complete one Public Affairs-intensive course that addresses one or more of the pillars of Missouri State’s Public Affairs Mission
Students may satisfy this requirement by completing any of the following:
- A service-learning course sponsored by the Office of Citizenship & Service-Learning
- An overseas study program sponsored by Study Away Programs
- An upper-level course [300 or higher] that focuses upon ethical leadership, community engagement, or cultural competence. This course may satisfy major or minor requirements and is not required to carry the HONR designation.
The following courses have been pre-approved to satisfy the Public Affairs course requirement and provide students examples of the wide range of opportunities available. This list is not exhaustive and other courses may qualify as Public Affairs intensive. Students are encouraged to contact the Honors College if they desire to petition for a course that is not listed below.
