- smaller and more enriched classes
- interaction with other high achieving students
- direct contact with outstanding faculty members
- many opportunities to study abroad
- special, academically-oriented housing
- the option to pursue one's own intellectual, research, and creative interests in the major
- guidance and support in applying for graduate or professional schools
Who We Are
The Honors College is a community of approximately 950 gifted and high achieving students. These Honors students are mixed into the general university population but share with each other roughly 20 hours of honors classes. Honors sections of classes are small in size and taught by professors who have especially distinguished themselves in their teaching and research. Honors College students also share time with one another through Honors Council, the events it sponsors, and the leadership and community service Honors College students regularly perform. Finally, we have Scholars House, a residence hall solely for Honors College students, and Hutchens Scholars floor, an entire floor in a residence hall dedicated to Honors College students. Thus, our community is social as well as academic, and bonds formed here can last a lifetime.
We are eager to include you in our exciting community of motivated learners. Please investigate the links to the left for more information on joining the Honors College.
