Attendees: Debbie Donnellan, Chair, Randy Blackwood, Tamera Jahnke, David King, Janis King, Neosha Mackey, Terri Oehm, John Satzinger, Art Spisak, Alex Trombetta, Martha Tuttle (via videoconference from West Plains), Howard Berriman, ex officio.
Absent: Alphonso Johnson
Tammy Jahnke submitted a resolution forwarded by the Parking Committee which supports the payment of parking fees on a pre-tax basis and as a monthly payroll deduction. Discussion followed regarding the legality of the resolution. Randy Blackwood moved that the Fringe Benefits Committee endorse the resolution upon receiving verification there is no legal problem. Neosha Mackey seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously. Tammy Jahnke will ask the Parking Committee to ascertain the needed information.
The Committee has received a request from an Missouri State-West Plains employee asking that another company be added to the list of approved mutual fund companies. Since the committee is unfamiliar with the procedures, resources, and personnel necessary to add an additional company, we felt unable to make any type of recommendation. Discussion followed regarding future requests from employees and/or agents representing mutual fund companies and insurance companies. Suggestion was made that perhaps the University should develop a policy to follow for handling future requests. Randy Blackwood moved that the request be forwarded to Mr. Tom Allen, who administers this program, for a determination on the feasibility. Second made by Art Spisak. Motion passed 9-0-1; John Satzinger abstained.
Neosha Mackey has agreed to chair the Wellness Subcommittee. The next meeting is February 4 at 9:00 a.m.
Howard Berriman has contacted Med Pay about obtaining statistics on the number of calls they received regarding Missouri State claims for the reporting year, 11/1/00-10/31/01. He is awaiting that information.
An information-gathering meeting with St. John’s officials will be scheduled within the next few weeks. All committee members are encouraged to attend.
