FASHION GROUP INTERNATIONAL KANSAS CITY CAREER DAY
OCTOBER 22 AND 23, 2009
Over 60 Fashion Merchandising and Design students attended this year's career day. A fashion show of original student designs opened the two day event on Thursday night, followed by a day of career seminars and a tour of the Nelson-Atkins Museum.
Once again the Fashion Merchandising and Design students excelled in the scholarship competitions!
Their vision for the upscale shoe company, Chez Shuz, won a third place for Christina Benson and an honorable mention for April Whitlow in the Store Concept Board Competition.

Missouri State swept the awards in the Personal Shopper Illustration Board competition. Students were asked to choose one of three personality scenarios. Armed with a specific budget and the career, lifestyle, and personal information of their choice, they were asked to create a wardrobe of five outfits along with a new hair and make-up.

For the second year in a row, one of our students won the T-shirt competition. Michelle Kelsay's design was selected to grace this year's official Career Day T-shirt.
