New Faculty Orientation
An orientation program is offered in August for all new faculty members. New Faculty Orientation begins with a half-day program with staff from the Office of Human Resources. This program covers benefits and retirement information. A second full-day program is designed by the Office of the Provost to acquaint faculty with the University’s mission and to assist in their preparation for success in teaching, research, and service.

 

Showcase for Teaching and Learning
The Showcase on Teaching and Learning, a twice-yearly event held on the Wednesday before fall and spring classes begin. Each event has new topics and is designed to bring together members of the University community to share research, ideas, and practices for the improvement of learning and teaching. Beginning with a set of concurrent sessions in the morning, the event concludes with a luncheon and speaker.
