In this show (recorded 11/24/2009), we discuss an important theory of motivation known as Self-determination theory. According to self-determination theory, human flourishing depends upon satisfying three fundamental needs: the need for autonomy, for competence, and for relatedness. Joining us will be special guest, Dr. Chantal Levesque-Bristol, associate professor of psychology who specializes in Self-Determination Theory. Dr. Levesque-Bristol also is the Director of the Faculty Center for Teaching & Learning at Missouri State University.
