Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning
Dr. Chantal Levesque-Bristol will assume leadership of the Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning (FCTL) at Missouri State University. She begins her duties as its director today (July 15).
“I am delighted to see one of ‘our own’ assume this important leadership position,” said Provost Belinda McCarthy. “The FCTL is a key element of our student success strategy; Dr. Levesque-Bristol will bring the experience and instincts of a scholar-educator to her work with faculty colleagues.”
Levesque-Bristol is an associate professor and assistant department head in the department of psychology and spent the last year as a provost fellow for teaching and learning. She has conducted research on various aspects of student learning and methods of enhancing motivation and learning in higher education.
“An important aspect of Dr. Levesque-Bristol’s work will be assisting faculty with the integration of public affairs into the curriculum,” said Dr. Rachelle Durabi, associate provost for student development and public affairs. “She will be assisted in this by the Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning advisory board and two provost fellows for teaching and learning who will be named soon.”
Levesque-Bristol received her Ph.D. in 2000 and her Bachelor of Arts in Specialization in Psychology in 1995 from the University of Ottawa, Canada.
