Introduction
The
Missouri State University Plan for Assessment and Instructional Support summarizes activities for a ten year period beginning in 1986. The plan was coordinated by the director of the Center for Assessment and Instructional Support. The Center supports improved student learning through assessment and instructional support resources for faculty. The director administers the program in consultation with an advisory committee composed primarily of faculty members and with individual academic units.
The plan is composed of:
- A brief historical summary that describes the development of a student learning and assessment emphasis, establishment of a Center, and the administration of a Center program
- An explanation of the relationship of the Center objectives with the University mission
- The plan's development process, which describes the coordination of the plan components across the campus and the participation of faculty
- The final plan resulting from this collaboration, which provides University, Center, and academic unit assessment components with a timetable
- The primary activities that have benefited learning improvement and will be continued in the future
