E-Citizenship Project

The E-Citizenship Initiative of the American Democracy Project sponsored by the American Association of State Colleges and Universities involves 35 participating institutions in working together to study how emerging technologies, particularly social networks, support and facilitate civic and political engagement and influence behavior and communication.

2010 the Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning in collaboration with the American Democracy Project began a study of social media usage on campus called the eCitizenship Project. The goal of the project is to learn more about social media usage among Missouri State students, and to see how social media usage is related to student civic engagement and prepare them for civic engagement and public participation in their future lives.
