Energy Conservation Savings
To all Springfield Campus faculty, staff and students:
Thank you for taking measures to conserve energy over the Winter break!
We saved $73,108 in electricity compared to the same number of days during the months of December (Baseline 12/6/15-12/19/15).
This is a reduction of 30% in electricity (913853 kWh) …… equivalent to energizing over 87 homes per year!
An average house in the U.S. can consume 12,164 kwh (For a typical house of 1,500 to 2,000 sq.ft. according to EIA Energy Information Administration, Residential Energy Consumption Survey)
The University averted the emissions of 1,389,239 pounds of Carbon Dioxide Equivalent. This is equivalent to the emissions of 133 passenger vehicles driven for one year!
Your efforts made a difference. Congratulations!
