As a state Institution and federal contractor, Missouri State University is required to annually report race, ethnicity and veteran data. Additionally, the federal guidelines have recently changed regarding the collection of this data. New race and ethnicity survey categories have been deveolped to provide a more accurate picture of the nation's diversity. New regulations also changed the categories of veterans who are protected from discrimination and who must be covered in the affirmiative action program.
To help ensure that the University has the most accurate data, we are asking all employees and students to complete a brief, two-part survey utilizing the new race, ethnicity and veteran categories. The first part of the survey asks participants to self-report race and ethnicity. The second part of the survey asks participants to self-report veteran status.
The survey is available online at http://www.missouristate.edu/resurvey and will only take a few minutes of your time. Please complete the survey by Friday, November 13th.
A list of frequently asked questions and answers are also available.
