In the 2010-2011 academic year, the Economics Department at Missouri State University awarded seven scholarships—five for majors and two for minors—in recognition of the excellent academic performance of its students. A reception to honor the scholarship recipients and the department’s ΟΔΕ inductees was held on May 5, 2011 at ReRico Brazilian Grill. The scholarship winners who attended the reception are pictured below with the retiring chair of the department’s scholarship committee, Dr. Tom Wyrick, and committee member Dr Christina Robinson.

This year we were able to award eight scholarships, including seven scholarships for majors and one for minors. In late April 2010, the Department held a reception at ReRico Brazilian Grill to honor the scholarship recipients and the ΟΔΕ inductees. The winners of the scholarships for Economics majors are pictured below. Jade Chrisman was in France, participating in a Study Away program and was unable to attend.

Because of the economic downturn and a consequent decline in earnings on scholarship endowments, in Spring 2009 we were able to award only a limited number of scholarships. The winners of the scholarships available for majors are shown below with CHPA Dean, Dr. Victor Matthews, at the annual CHPA Scholarship Banquet.
