Becoming a dietitian

You must complete an ACEND accredited education program such as the Missouri State dietetic internship certificate program to be eligible to take the Registration Examination for Dietitians. Completing a dietetic internship and passing the Registration Examination are required for you to become a registered dietitian and for membership in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.  You can learn more about becoming a registered dietitian at the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics website.

Career pathways in dietetics

There are many different specializations for registered dietitians. Dietitians are needed in any capacity that involves planning and educating others about the importance of incorporating a healthy diet into our everyday lives. Specialty areas include the following:
