Dietetic Internship Acceptance Rates and Disclosure for Missouri State

National Registration Exam (RD Exam) Pass Rate Disclosure

In their March, 2009 newsletter the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) (formerly the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE)) reports the following for pass rate information for dietetics programs across the nation:

“Despite the fact that the average national pass rate for first time candidates on the registration examination for dietitians has remained relatively stable at approximately 80% over the past five years, data for individual programs suggest that some programs are outperforming others. When each program is ranked by its average student performance based on type, 33% of DI, 38% of CP, and 42% of DPD programs fell below the 80% first-time pass rate."

If a student graduates from the Missouri State Dietetics Program, they must go on into an internship to be eligible to sit for the national registration exam, commonly called the RD exam. It should be noted that the fail rate increases with the number of times the exam is taken. As required by ACEND, following is the pass rate information for the Missouri State Dietetics Program.
