Your special event at the Plaster Student Union

The Plaster Student Union is the perfect location for a prom, wedding reception or other formal event.

The Grand Ballroom offers enough room for a reception with a full sit down meal for up to 400 guests or up to 600 guests can be seated for dinner if a dance floor is not desired.  Because the Ballroom is divisible, we have the flexibility of comfortably accommodating a range of banquet or reception sizes.  A large welcoming reception desk at the Ballroom entrance provides a nice area for a coat check or guest book.  The Ballroom is equipped with a computerized system that allows for several lighting effects.  Outside DJs or bands are welcome, or full sound systems and DJ equipment are available for rent.

For a more intimate gathering, the stately Union Club on the 4th floor offers dining seating for 75 at oak tables with a lovely view of the Missouri State campus.  The Union Club, with its combination of dining tables and conversational seating, can accommodate up to 150 for a standing reception.  The Union Club’s décor provides the ambiance of a reception in an upscale private residence.

Some things you should know 

• Missouri State University is an alcohol-free campus, and this policy covers events in the Plaster Student Union as well.
• Award-winning Sodexho catering is the exclusive caterer for events on campus.  Exceptions can be made for wedding cakes.
• You can reserve space in the Plaster Student Union with a $100 nonrefundable deposit, 1 year in advance.
