·     Citing other commitments, Dr. Matthews asked Dr. Kunkel to host the fall commencement reception in his absence.

·     Selection and placement of holiday decorations was discussed. Dr. Matthews pointed out that in addition to the Christmas tree and menorah displayed in the atrium, a second floor display case contained a plethora of religious symbols to celebrate cultural diversity during the holiday season.

·     Dr. Matthews reported that plans to separate CRM from the SOC/ANT/CRM Department have been delayed. The remainder of time was spent discussing the potential impact of state higher education cuts on the hiring process, overall college budget, and compensation.
