Library Services

The Missouri State Libraries web page provides access to the Libraries’ online catalog, SWAN (Southwest Academic Network) that also includes the holdings of other regional academic libraries and is the gateway to MOBIUS, the statewide bibliographic system for over 50 academic libraries. The Libraries also provide an electronic reserves system, e-mail delivery of articles from Interlibrary Loan requests, and an expedited delivery service for books borrowed from other campuses. Many online databases are available, including full-text for numerous journal articles. These databases are available for access from home computers. Nineteen research carrels are available for semester-long assignment – see Online Services on the Library home page for details.

You can place materials on reserve or electronic reserve in the library for student use. Books, articles, or videotapes can be placed physically on reserve so that your students can check out the actual artifact for use in the library. Also, you may place articles on electronic reserve so that students can access them via the web, without having to physically come into the library. Instructions for placing items on reserve are available through the library.
