CHHS Computer Lab Policies
- No food or drink allowed in the lab at any time.
- No cell phone usage in the lab at any time.
- All users must log on and off of the workstations using their NT accounts, if do not have a NT account you must go to the Cheek or Glass computer labs to get one.
- It is a violation of University policy to use the University's computers for cheating. Unauthorized copying, sending, or receiving of program assignments or copyrighted files is strictly prohibited.
- It is a violation of University policy to use the computers for promoting outside business interests. Computer resources shall not be used for private consulting or personal gain. Commercial use of software is prohibited.
- Game playing from the University laboratories is strictly prohibited. This includes MUDs, MUCKs, personal computer games, etc.
- It is a violation of University policy to send unsolicited, annoying, or obscene messages or mail.
- It is not appropriate to examine, or attempt to examine, another computer user's files or e-mail.
- Valid uses of computer resources include instructional use in classes, faculty research and administrative support.
- The computer labs are to be treated as work areas. Distractive behaviors are inappropriate.
- It is the responsibility of users to save all materials to personal floppy disks. All computer hard drives will be periodically purged to delete non-authorized documents and software. Therefore, users may not find previously saved information upon returning to the lab.
- No copyrighted software may be downloaded to hard drives or from the computers in the labs to floppy disks.
- Access to computers may be limited to 2 hours when demand is high.
- Recurrence of non-compliance with the rules will result in loss of computer privileges for an individual in all of the CHHS computer labs.
