Student Research Symposium

Each year the College of Health and Human Services hosts an annual Student Research Symposium that showcases the scholarly work of our undergraduate and graduate students. This research is mentored by faculty members in the various departments of the College of Health and Human Services (CHHS).
The 17th Annual CHHS Student Research Symposium will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2013 from 3:30 to 5:30 pm in the Plaster Student Union Grand Ballroom. This symposium is open to all graduate and undergraduate students enrolled in programs within the Colleges of Health and Human Services. The purpose of this symposium is to allow students to present scholarly or creative projects they have been conducting during the past year. Students presenting research projects will be available to discuss their research during the symposium. The event is free and all CHHS faculty and students are encouraged to attend to learn about current research in the college and to support and encourage the students in their endeavors.
Abstract submission deadline is Friday, March 22, 2013 at NOON.
There is a 1250 character limit for abstracts this year. Please make sure that your abstract has been reviewed and approved by your faculty research advisor PRIOR to submission.
Oral Presentations. There is an opportunity for up to 12 students from the College of Health and Human Services to present their research orally in addition to their poster presentation. Selected students will have 7-minutes to give their oral presentation. If you are interested in giving an oral presentation for your research, please check the appropriate box when submitting your abstract.
Poster fees for the Symposium:
- Posters (one per abstract, glossy paper with color*) will be FREE* of charge if submitted to the Dean's office by Monday, April 1st. See the chart below for examples of posters that will be free for the Symposium if submitted by April 1st.

- Posters submitted to the Dean's office between April 1st and April 15th will be subject to normal poster production fees.
*Extra fees will apply for Level 4 color. Please see Poster Production website for more information.
The final deadline for turning in posters to be printed by the Dean’s office is Monday, April 15, 2013.
Submit your poster in PowerPoint with the poster order form by dropping off a USB/thumb drive in the dean's office or emailing JRund@MissouriState.edu. The poster must be in final format and utilize the 42" x 60" poster template. No changes will be made by the dean's office.
