Tryout Weekends are held in the spring for the following school year. Tryout Weekends are typically either the last weekend of April or the first weekend of May. If deemed necessary an additional tryout will be held in the fall to fill any open positions.
Preceding the Tryout Weekend there are 2-3 Tryout Clinics these clinics cover the material that will be covered in the tryout process. These clinics are not mandatory but most typical squad candidates attend 2 of the 3 clinics to be adequately prepared.
The Cheer Squad cheers for Football, Volleyball, and both Men's and Women's Basketball.
The squad also competes annually at the UCA College Nationals in Orlando, FL each January and has placed in the Top 5 in Division 1 in both 2006 & 2007.
Each squad member has the opportunity to receive a stipend, as well as, a large portion of their cheerleading related expenses covered by the University. The amount of this benefit varies on a year to year basis. In addition each squad member is permitted to enroll in PED 297 for credit as a member of the squad and also receives tickets to each home football game for friends and family.
