The Teacher Certification Office Staff

Scott's background is in Communications, Sociology and Higher Education Administration.  Scott is responsible for the coordination of all post bac and Master's Level teacher certification programs at Missouri State, monitors all undergraduate BSED programs to ensure that they stay in compliance with DESE standards, and oversees the Teacher Certification Office and the Education Field Experiences Office.

Carol Hamilton is originally from Northeast Iowa and has spent most of her life in the Midwest. She moved to Springfield from the St. Louis area in 2012, when her husband semi-retired, to be near their daughter and family. Bringing a strong background in Office Organization and Administration, Carol joined the Teacher Certification Office in February 2015. As Administrative Assistant, Carol assists the Certification Officer as needed to prepare students for admission to the certification program. She also assists the Field Experiences office with payment processing and record keeping for Cooperating Teachers’ and Supervisors’ payments.

Cindy is a member of the Early Childhood and Family Studies Department, and works closely with post-bac and graduate-level certification students.  Cindy's Background is in Elementary Education. She joined the College of Education in August 2009.  Her main responsibilities include recruiting and advising students in the Post Bac and Master's level teacher certification programs and completing transcript analysis.  Cindy is a firm believer in education and is excited to be working in the College of Education.

Jennifer is a member of the Reading, Foundations and Technology Department, and works closely with post-bac and graduate-level certification students.  Jennifer's Background is in Education and Psychology. She joined the College of Education in 2003.  Her main responsibilities include recruiting and advising students in the Post Bac and Master's level teacher certification programs and completing transcript analysis.  

Lisa is a member of the Counseling, Leadership and Special Education Department, and works closely with graduate-level certification students.  Lisa's background is in Communications and Business.  She joined the College of Education in July 2007.  Her primary responsibilities include coordination of the recruitment, selection and admission processes for all Special Education Alternative Certification Program (SEACT) and Visually Impaired Program (VIP) students.  Lisa  is the primary contact for all three of these programs.  She also assists with transcript analysis, GPA calculation, and special projects. 

Breanna is originally from Kansas City, Missouri and attended Hogan Preparatory High school where she graduated salutatorian of her class in 2010. Breanna graduated with a BSW in Social Work in 2015 and is now pursuing her MSW degree at Missouri State.

Felicia is originally from Belton, Missouri and attended Belton High School where she graduated in May of 2015. She is now a Special Education major at Missouri State University. Felicia joined the Teacher Certification Office in October 2015 as a student assistant.
