Scott is originally from Minnesota, and earned his Bachelor's Degree in Communications and Sociology from Bemidji State University in northern Minnesota.  He then completed a Master's Degree in College Student Personnel from Western Illinois University. 

Scott has been working at Missouri State University since 1991, has been the Missouri State Certification Officer since July 2002 and the Director of Student Services since July 2008.  Scott is responsible for the coordination of all post bac and Master's Level teacher certification programs at Missouri State, monitors all undergraduate BSED programs to ensure that they stay in compliance with DESE standards, and oversees the Teacher Certification Office, the Professional Education Advisement Center and the Education Field Experiences Office.

Carol Pearson - Academic Advisor/Recruiter Carol Pearson
Academic Advisor/Recruiter

Carol Pearson was hired in August, 2008 and will be responsible for most of the recruitment efforts within the Teacher Certification Office, and will be the primary advisor for all post bac and Master's level certification students.  Carol is a native of Springfield, MO and holds a Bachelor's and Master's Degree from Drury University — both in Education.  Carol taught middle school students for several years in Springfield, and was also a Curriculum Specialist for Springfield Public Schools.

MaryAnn Jennings - Academic Advisor MaryAnn Jennings
Academic Advisor - Visually Impaired Program

Mary Ann Jennings has been a faculty member at  Missouri State University for over 14 years, coming to the College of Education from the School of Social Work.  She earned her B.A. from Washburn University, her MSW from the University of Texas at Arlington and her Ph.D. in social work from the University of Kansas.  Mary Ann has many years practice experience working with children, youth, families and the elderly.

In the College of Education, she will be working with  Teacher Certification staff to admit and advise VI and MSED-VI students.  She will also be working with the Project DIVERSE team.

Transcript Analyst/Teacher Certification Assistant

Jennifer is originally from Michigan city, Indiana and is happily married to her husband Don.  She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Missouri State and is now pursuing an MS in Administrative Studies. 
 
In November, 2003 Jennifer joined the Teacher Certification Office staff as the Administrative Secretary.  Currently her main area of responsibility is for Transcript Analysis for all Post Bac and Master's level teacher certification programs.  She also assists the Coordinator as needed.  Jennifer's Office is located in Hill Hall, Room 205-A.

Administrative Secretary

Kandra is originally from Gainesville, Missouri.  She is currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree at Missouri State in Social Work with a minor in African American Studies.

Kandra has been working at Missouri State for 5 years, and has been in the Teacher Certification Office since December 2006.  Kandra handles most of the daily activities in the Teacher Certification Office.

Office Assistant

Lisa is a Southern Missouri native, and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications with a minor in Business from Drury University.

Lisa has been in the Teacher Certification Office since July 2007.  Her primary responsibilities include assistance with trancript analysis, gpa calculation, recruitment of new students and special projects.  Lisa is currently the primary contact for Visually Impaired Certification.

Student Employee

Susan is originally from St. Louis, Missouri.  She is a junior majoring in Elementary Education with an Emphasis in Middle School Math.

Susan has been working at the Teacher Certification Office since August, 2007, and is primarily responsible for completing special projects.
