For Springfield Service-Learning Students Only
Students are expected to follow the dress code of the host organization. If you are uncertain of the appropriate dress, request the information when you telephone the organization to arrange your first visit. It is important to follow any agency dress code because the idea is for you to fit into the setting and to emulate staff. Professionalism extends to experience.
Use common sense when it applies to your host organization and your asigned tasks. For example, jeans and a T-shirt would be inappropriate in many office environments, just as a business suit would be inappropriate in a childcare setting. Avoid belly-shirts, ripped clothing, low-slung pants, low cut/overly tight tops, or short skirts or shorts.
