CONSENT AGENDA ITEMS

WEST PLAINS

Related to academic employees, the Board approved a change-of-status for Rita Fugate, to emeritus faculty.

The Board approved non-academic change-of-status for Christina J. Kerley, to accounting manager, business office; and Joan I. Ragon, to staff emeritus. The Board also approved the retirement of Joan I. Ragon, financial aid.

The Board approved removal of Dennis Lancaster as a designated signatory to checks on bank accounts of Missouri State University-West Plains and approved Cheryl Caldwell as a designation of signatory to checks on bank accounts of Missouri State University-West Plains.

The Board approved purchasing and activity reports for the West Plains campus.

PURCHASES/CONTRACTS

The Board approved the activity and purchasing reports for the Springfield campus.

The Governors approved a contract to Hunter Chase & Associates, Inc., $99,451.25, for the base bid for the Intersection Improvements at Broadmoor Street & Kansas Expressway; DeWitt & Associates, Inc., $169,980, for the base bid for the modifications to the Professional Building; Gold Mechanical Inc., $87,700, for the base bid and alternates 1, 2, and 3 for the chilled water loop tie-in of the tunnel piping for Ellis Hall;

The Governors also approved to extend Contract 1755-1 for student health insurance with Academic HealthPlans, Inc. for two additional plan years (2010-11 and 2011-12).

The Board approved an extension the university's relationship with Liaoning Normal University for four years.

Dr. Drew Bennett, Missouri State University-West Plains chancellor, reported on activities at the West Plains campus.

STUDENT AFFAIRS

Orlando Hodges, student body president, gave a report.

Dr. Earle Doman, vice president for student affairs, also gave a report.

STAFF SENATE

Konya Knackstedt, Staff Senate chair-elect, gave a report.

FINANCIAL

Brent Dunn, vice president for university advancement, reported on development activities for the months of February and March.

Nila Hayes, chief financial officer, gave a report. Governor Winston reported on the Finance Committee meeting.

The Board approved the 2009-10 fee schedules.

The Board approved additional purchasing activities.

Ken McClure, vice president for information and administrative services, gave a report. The Board approved Bales Construction Company, Inc., $2,787,618, for the base bid and alternate #2 for the exterior renovation of Hammons House.

The Board discussed an amendment to its bylaws, which it wil vote on at the next meeting.
