Background:

Dr. Timson grew up in southwestern Illinois near the Mississippi river just north of St. Louis.  He earned his BS and MS degrees from Eastern Illinois University and his PhD from Washington State University.  He began his career at Lincoln University in Jefferson City, MO then spent two years at Eastern Illinois University before joining the Biomedical Sciences faculty at Missouri State in 1989.  When not working Dr. Timson enjoys visiting his children and grandchildren, coaching soccer, riding his bicycle, and floating the Current River. 

Research Interests: 

Dr. Timson’s primary research interest is in the role of exercise in delaying the onset and progression of Alzheimer’s disease.
