Research Interests:

Function and ultrastructure of morphogenetic cytoplasms present in the polar lobes of freshwater prosobranch gastropods; the relationship between the cortical cytoskeleton and the repositioning of morphogenetic determinants in embryos of the marine gastropod, Ilyanassa; gastropod morphogenetic movements; the characteristics of thin conductive films deposited on specimens to be viewed via high resolution scanning electron microscopy; 3-D reconstruction from 2-D datasets.

Personal Information:

Dr. Michael Craig is married to Carolyn R. Craig. They have one daughter, Lynn, about whom her father loves to brag. Mike's core philosophy about his work is summarized in a quote from a boyhood acquaintance: "Oh, what tangled webs we weave, when first we practice .... (pause).... to weave tangled webs." Mike likes photography and loves symphonic classical music ("Does anybody still listen to Gustav Mahler?").
