The Minor in Nutrition

Nutrition plays an integral role in nearly all aspects of human life. The minor in nutrition complements the opportunities for students planning to enter the medical, health and human service-related professions. The nutrition minor strengthens other academic majors including those seeking employment in the food industry.

The completion of this minor does not satisfy state licensing requirements for dietitians or the academic requirements of the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE) of The American Dietetic Association (ADA). Students interested in becoming Registered Dietitians need to complete the comprehensive major in Dietetics, complete a post-baccalaureate CADE-accredited supervised practice program, and pass a national examination by the Commission on Dietetic registration. For further information, visit the web page on the Dietetics major at Missouri State University.
