Dr. Brad Snow (DMA, University of Southern Mississippi, MM, University of Southern Mississippi, BSEd, University of Missouri) serves Missouri State University as Director of Bands where he conducts the MSU Wind Ensemble and directs the PRIDE Marching Band. In his role as Director of Bands, Dr. Snow leads the graduate wind band conducting program, instructs various graduate level courses, and administers all aspects of the band program.

Prior to his appointment at Missouri State, Dr. Snow served as Director of Bands at the University of Missouri where he conducted the University Wind Ensemble, directed Marching Mizzou, and taught basic conducting, band repertoire, advanced band methods, and graduate conducting. Prior to joining the faculty at MU, Dr. Snow served as Associate Director of Bands at Oklahoma State University and Assistant Director of Bands at the University of Southern Mississippi. Dr. Snow has also served our country as a member of the United States Marine Band at Quantico, Virginia where he led the Marine Corps’ premier brass quintet and served as assistant conductor of the concert and ceremonial bands. Dr. Snow was the recipient of numerous military honors and awards, including being named finalist for the Marine Corps Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year award and a two-time recipient of the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal. 

Dr. Snow has also enjoyed success as a public-school band director. Under his direction, his high school bands received superior ratings at the local, state, and national levels. Dr. Snow is in demand as a guest conductor, clinician, and adjudicator throughout the United States. Notable achievements have included leading performances in Northern Ireland that aired live over the BBC, performing as part of the opening ceremonies of the International Trumpet Guild conference in Manchester, England, guest conductor of La banda dell’esercito, the Italian Army Band, in Rome, Italy, and guest conductor of the Italian town bands of Sacrofano, Matera, and Trecastagni, Sicily. 

As a collegiate band director Dr. Snow has conducted ensembles at two regional CBDNA conferences and one national CBDNA conference, as well as five MMEA appearances. He has taken bands to 12 bowl games, two SEC championship games, countless NCAA basketball tournament appearances, eight Bands of America Regional and Super Regional exhibition performances, one Bands of America Grand Nationals Exhibition performance, and three international tours. Since joining the faculty at Missouri State, Dr. Snow has coordinated mass band performances for the Gator Bowl (Jacksonville, FL), the Citrus Bowl (Orlando, FL), the Alamo Bowl (San Antonio, TX), and the Sugar Bowl (New Orleans, LA). Dr. Snow has also judged the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Dublin, Ireland on four different occasions and serves as a permanent adjudicator/advisor for the Limerick (Ireland) International Band Festival. 

Dr. Snow has also served as the executive administrator of the National Band Association (NBA), the world’s largest organization for bands, where he was responsible for the daily operation of the national office. Dr. Snow currently serves as the State Chair of the NBA and was previous Chair of the NBA’s Southwest Division where he presided over Missouri, Kansas, Colorado, Arkansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Texas. His professional memberships include the National Association for Music Education, College Band Directors National Association, National Band Association, Missouri Bandmasters Association, Phi Beta Mu, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, with honorary memberships in Kappa Kappa Psi and Tau Beta Sigma, and induction into Pi Kappa Lambda and Omicron Delta Kappa Honor Societies.
