CAIS Assessment Databases

The Center for Assessment and Instructional Support maintains a university outcomes database as a resource for administrators, faculty, and staff in assuring high academic quality on the Missouri State University campus.

The statistics will be used for Measuring Progress toward university goals and provides statistics to support longitudinal descriptions of academic units within Missouri State University colleges and themes.  The accumulated information will be incorporated into department and institutional plans, self-studies, program reviews, Higher Learning Commission reviews, and other professional organization accreditation reviews.

Annual program outcome measures will provide the basis for a cyclical review system that permits continuous improvement and progress monitoring.  The regular collection of measurement statistics enables advance preparation for a variety of reporting requirements.  Statistics are intended to track performance over time as data accumulates from annual measures.  The purpose is to maintain a continuous data set to support requests, decisions, reports, and reviews in the future.  The measures link planning, resources, and performance with academic units and the university through an ongoing monitoring system.

The database established by Assessing University Outcomes supports the Long-Range Vision and Six-Year Plan (2000-2006) described in Countdown to the Missouri State University Centennial.  This database is created and supported by the Center for Assessment and Instructional Support.  Data elements represent information provided by students, alumni, faculty, and employers to assess outcomes relative to general education, academic majors, employment, lifelong learning, and public affairs
